2013 BMW 550i
Titanium Silver Metallic
Black Dakota Leather
Driver Assistance
Executive Package
M Sport
Luxury Seating
Sport Automatic Transmission
Power Rear Sunshade
Heated Seats
$74,770 MSRP
$69,350 Dealer Invoice (includes MACO and Training fees of $580)

Offered the car to me at $500 over invoice. So car cost $69,850. There is ceramic tint already on the car but that was not priced out in the invoice and not clear in the fees if that was added in somewhere.

Residual: 62%
Lease Factor: .0013
36 Months, 12K Per Year
City Sales Tax: 8.95%

Fees They Describe
Acquisition Fee: $925
Cash: $1000 (What is this - a cap reduction??)
Government Fees: $1070.07 (Title)
Doc Fee: $489

Total Initial Payment is $2500. I am assuming they took the $1500 lease cash and applied it to the drive off fees. Is that normal or should that come off the negotiated price of the car?

Their payment estimate was $919.85. My payment estimate is $875.57 and according to the lease calculator mine seems to be right. It appears their sales tax estimate is about $300 over what I calculated but that cannot be the ~$50 per month difference.

Thoughts on this deal?
hi!
Virtualmayhem,

as per the figures you provided:

MSRP $74,770
Purchase Price $69,850
Resv - 62%
MF - .00130
Term 36 months

You should get $875 with your taxes. your others fees in my opinion are way too high. Acquisition fees should be no more than $725. Doc fees if any should not be more than $299. DMV fees should be in $300-400 range (check with your DMV).

Now if you use 7MSD your new payments should be $813.54 inclusive of taxes.

And if you take further $1500 incentive in account, you new payment with incentive + 7MSD should be $766.82. So from $875 to $766, that is a big difference of $109 per month saving totalling $$3924 for life of lease.

If you can still get them to go further down on the purchase price, that would be great. I still think there is more room to negociate on that part. If you can get them down to 9-10% off of MSRP, you have got yourself a smokin deal. Tell them you will come down rite away, if they can come down to your price. Make sure you don't overpay on any of the fees, otherwise it beats to negotiate. Try to get all the numbers and fees in email before you go down to the delar, so there is no change in figures. Also have you tried to get in touch with Jon Shafer or Greg Poland. See what they can do. You can send them PM. Look in the Ask-A-Delar section on the bimmerfest forum. I still strongly belive you can get 550's for 9-10% off of MSRP.

In my story i missed out on the $1500 incentive by 13days, otherwise i would have saved another $50/month, and my payments would have been $640 instead of $690 with 7% taxes. But no regrets, i love the car, and i know i got the car at very good price. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Thanx!

On the DMV front unfortunately their number is correct. In AZ your years tags are based on the cost/value of the vehicle so for cars in this realm $1000 for tags is the reality. I felt their Doc and Acquisition fees were also high. Your payment is exactly what calculated so something is wrong with their numbers I ended up at $875.57. I was wondering if they were using .0017MF and that would be $926.21 which is close to their payment amount. I have a complete screen shot of their numbers so that is in hand already.

Can you explain the math behind the 7 MSD's? So the security deposit is the first month's payment and in this case you are doing 7X that deposit how are you arriving at that new payment? I definitely have the cash for MSD's. That payment reduction would be awesome I assume you are applying the $1500 cash against the car purchase price - this dealer seems to think you apply that to the acquisition fees.

I sent a note to Jon and didn't get a response, I will reach out to Greg and see what he comes up with.

hi!

the $1500 lease incentive as per my knowledge, you take it off of your negociated purchase price. if i am wrong, someone please correct me. And as per 7MSD, your MF will drop .00007 for each security deposit you put down.

0.0013
-0.00007
-0.00007
-0.00007
-0.00007
-0.00007
-0.00007
-0.00007
0.00081 Final MF.

security deposit is determined by your final monthly payment. So for instance your monthly payment is say $875, one security deposit is $900 (rounded to next $50). If you apply MSD and your payment say becomes $800, than the new amount of security is $800 for each. I am really not good at explaning this, but if you visit bimmerfest, there is a 20+ pages tread on it. I would strongly suggest, you read up on it. I did and it really helped me out while i was negociating. You don't have to put 7MSD, but the limit is 7. You can put 3, 4 or 6 anything you like and are comfortable with. Thanx!

Thanks for the information on the MSD's, I think I get it after reading the other articles here.

A question on the $1500 lease cash - dealer is telling me that can only be applied to the drive off costs and not the final car purchase price. Is this accurate?

Not good enough. They have not applied the $1500 incentive for 5 series cars and they have increased your base money factor to .0017 from .0013.
Also, that's too much money down.

Another item to remember on MSD, you get the money back at the end of the lease versus appying the money as a "down payment". I would suggest that you never put "money down" but instead apply the money towards the SD up to 7.

2013 BMW 550ix $0 down 36 months 10K, MSRP$ 66545 for $569 month plus taxes. this car has only cold weather package. Navi, rearview camera and park distance are standard on 550's. If somebody is not looking for lots of options, this car is a steal in my opinion. Last month i was looking at this same car for $599/month. So drop of $30/month from Jan. I have the full details they gave me when it was $599. Looks like they have dropped the cap cost little more. So if u go to lease this car, it can be even more cheaper because of $1500 lease cash. Thanx!

How are you getting this price. I am very interested in a 535i with an MSRP of $66420 and the payment is way more than that even with a sales price of $59535.

here's my deal that i recently was able to get from Greg over at Pacific BMW...

2013 550i Sedan
Space Gray
Black Dakota w/ Anthracite Wood Trim
M-Sport
Driver Assistance Package
Executive Package
Heated Seats

MSRP: $72895

Invoice: $67620

10k/36 mont lease

Residual: 63%
MF: .00081 (applied 7 Multiple Security Deposits)

Deal I got was 2000 below invoice before incentives...so final selling price was $62870 after the lease rebate (1500), loyalty (750) and Customer Turn-Key program (500).

Gross Cap Cost: 62870 + 725 (Acq fee) = 63595

Drive off was just the MSDs, 1st month's payment, taxes, and fees.

Monthly payment is 621.87 including KS tax.

I'm from Kansas and flew out there to pick up earlier this week and drove back. Very happy with my deal

If any of you are looking for a deal i would highly suggest working with Greg. He can even arrange to deliver (at your expense of course) or you can take a road trip.

Hope that helps!

If any of you are looking for a deal i would highly suggest working with Greg. He can even arrange to deliver (at your expense of course) or you can take a road trip.

Hope that helps!

That is a great deal. Its almost same as mine, execept i didn't get loyalty and missed out on lease cash. Wished bmw did price match if u got the car within 30days of purchase. But still great car. Enjoy ur new ride.

Thanx!
Buddy, there's no way you got that deal I will guarantee you that!
