Cracked iDrive on F10, HELP!

Hi All,

Wondering if you could help. I have a 2011 F10 with pro nav.

I came back to my car earlier today and looked at the screen and noticed what I thought was a hair on the screen. Trying to move the hair it did not move, and it dauned on me that the screen actually had a large crack from the top all the way to the side of the screen, approx 3 inches in length!!

Now I'm panicking, do you think this will be covered under my warranty??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After looking at photos of the unit out of the dash, it seems that directly above where the crack starts is a metal hook that hooks into the dash to keep it in place.

Do you think this could have caused a stress crack?

Quick update- took this to my local garage and they replaced the entire unit!

I now have the DOT so much much better lol...
