UK F11 Delivery and Japanese Tsunami
Hi all,
Congratulations on an excellent forum. Quick question (and apologies if a thread is buried elsewhere) but are deliveries of F10/F11s being impacted by the Japanese Tsunami?. |

1) Xiracyrlic paint delay... think now sorted.
2) Also read on this forum that std navis were being upgraded to professional navis due to standard unit shortages following Japanese disaster. |

Mine seems to have been delayed by over a month...was blamed on lack on components for the sat nav and radio.......dont know how true this is though, as people who ordered about the same time as me have already received their cars!

Some guys in the US were being offer free upgrades from their dealer. Do a search and you should find the details. Not sure if this is still possible however.

Not sure if the BMWNA May Nav Upgrade thing was down to the tsunami or to generate sales, would seem strange to just do that in the US and not everywhere else if it's a factory issue...
Have heard the same story about Navs being delayed though, starting to think it's just dealer BS to cover up the fact that some don't know how to book build slots and get cars through more quickly...

Mandatory Navigation in North America
Quote:
This was consistent with the action taken in the North American market: 1. In the USA, Navigation was offered for free on F10 orders placed in May; 2. In Canada, the Executive Package (which includes Navigation; $5,400) was made a "Mandatory Option" (which is, of course, a contradiction in terms). So, one way or another you were going to get Navigation in N.A. The action provides pretty good evidence that Canada is a less competitive market than the USA (as one would expect). Or, F10s are in high demand. |
