Different feel in the Steering
Got a 1800km F10 523i loaner from the dealer while they checked out my ride for some rattles coming from the rear hatrack/hat-tray area - and I could immediately feel that the steering feel is very different from my ride.
There were so much gripe about the F10's steering feel when it was newly introduced. I went into RealOEM to check and true enough, from 03/2011, there's a new part number for the electric steering. It feels heavier when slow while going straight - an inertia feeling on the steering that discourages it from straying either left or right. Anybody else felt this? Btw, the rattle came from the 3rd brake light. I was suspecting a loose speaker.

Frankly, I didn't quite like that "new" feel! I still prefer my pre-Mar2011 steering feel.

You say that it no longer wanders in the straight-ahead position and I read that as a significant positive. I'd appreciate it if you could describe your findings in greater detail - thanks. |
