Please Help !!!
My car shut off 2 days ago on the street ( 2011 BMW 535i with 89500 miles). "Fuel Supply" popped up and I thought that related to " In-tank Fuel Delivery Pump" which is under warranty for 10 years according to the letter I got from NA BMW, so I towed the car to Shelly BMW. After 2 days diagnosing, Shelly BMW came up with the conclusion and They told me none of them under warranty:
* Recommend Replacement of Low Pressure Fuel Pump Due to High Resistance Recommend Replacement and Programming Of EKPS Module Due to Internal Damage $1685 * Recommend Replacement of Lower Pressure Sensor $465 * Recommend Replacement of Battery and Register Battery to Vehicle $535 * Recommend Replacement of Cylinder Head Gasket ( I was told it's leaking the oil, not too much) $6895 I live in Orange County. Are the Fuel Pump Issues that I was told under 10 year warranty? If not, What should I do? Is there any local shop can fix it with cheaper price? Thank you |

The Golden Rule of BMW ownership for non-billionaires: do not have a BMW dealer do non-warranty work. The last time I got a quote on non-warrantied work from a BMW dealer was $2100 for a water pump replacement. Instead, I took it to an indy for $700. |

I intend to try to call NA BMW to claim about my fuel issue, let's see what they talk about it. Also, I heard there are some head gasket sealers. Not sure if they actually work :/

Tow it to the desert late at night with a GOOD friend with a car dolly, break the driver side window, take the wheels off it and pore 10 gallons of 87 in the interior and flick a match from 10-15 feet away into the busted out driver window (Leave immediately). The next morning file a police report and call your insurance company and tell them your car has been stolen. Or call Bmw NA and complain, Sorry that's all I have to offer.

Seriously it sounds like they don't know what the problem is and they are just throwing your money at the problem. Take it to another dealer or have a different shop look at it. Basically do what the other guy said but skip the battery registration, it's bullshit and not needed your car will never overcharge the new battery because it has BMW efficient dynamics and never gets charged past 80%, look it up on you tube. Buy a bluetooth OBD2 scanner from amazon download the torque app or comparable iPhone app and check the codes yourself to verify if they are even telling you the truth on what it needs. My girlfriends mom took her van to the dealer for a no start issue, they said it needed a starter, cam sensor, crank sensor and fuel cap and they would do it for $1189 plus tax. I used my blue tooth OBD2 reader with the torque app and checked the codes my self, it only needed the cam sensor and a new starter which I replaced by watching videos from the Internet in 2 hours for $160. I work on my own cars and maybe it's time you start too, the Internet isn't just for porn and music anymore Sorry, I'm kind of a smart ass but I mean well |

Haha I was thinking the same. Burn it and claim the insurance. Anyways, just bought the Extended Warranty for my car because I'm planning to keep it for another 5 years. Peace in mind now

I agree with the above, I never take my cars to the dealer out of warranty. I either do it myself, or I have a friend help. I got a buddy in Tustin who's an ASE certified mechanic, he has a lift at his house and all the tools. Let me know. Just bring him the parts and he can get it done fairly easily.
