Comfort Access Sensitivity Q's
Is there any way to adjust comfort access door lock sensitivity (i.e.: the amount of pressure needed on the three or four lines on the door handle to lock the doors from the handle)?
How about adjusting the proximity range for the remote key fob (i.e.: the distance the key can be away from the car in order for the door locks to open when placing your hand behind the handle)? |

F10 CA is horrible compared to my E60....
I often feel embarrassed trying to lock/unlock my car rough CA, I always have to hold on to the handle for a whie before it reacts. |

I don't have any problem getting in, it's locking the car that takes so long - do i need to touch the lines, do I need to rub the lines, do I need to push on the lines? Just when one was seems to work, that same method never works the next time.
As far as cleaning the car, I put the fob in the garage so it doesn't lock and unlock like on the e60 and so I don't scratch or dent the body panels while reaching over on the hood or the roof. I learned that the hard way washing my POS Dodge pickup (that I no longer have). |

The system was designed to open easily for liars, thieves, and scoundrels. Why? Because they are more likely to have sweaty hands. I guess BMW marketing got the demographic wrong since I am an honest dude withy dry hands. Anyway, the sweatier your hands the easier comfort access works. Try licking your fingers (I think I'm gonna pass out) and touch the door handle. The ribs on the door handle if you have them help give more surface area to the sensor. Again, while pressure is helpful in making a better connection it is not necessary. It the moisture in your hands that is necessary to obtain the capacitance necessary to open the door. Don't forget, once the capacitance threshold is met, the system still has to ping your key fob. And that takes a few milliseconds. |

...and this, my friends, is why I am going to save the $1,500 and order my 2012 535i WITHOUT the Premium Package. I don't need or want CA, Sirius is not my cup of tea, and the power tailgate is cool, but not worth it.

Absolutely no problems with CA< and will always be getting it from now.
Soft Close doors are great. Power tailgate is a must.
