New 528i Owner!
Just purchased a 2012 528i in Alpine White with Black Dakota Leather, Anthracite wood, premium, and navigation right before new years. Price negotiated was 45,550, 49,973 with tax and registration, and final 48,973 after loyalty rebate. Not a bad deal right?
Also in consideration was the Audi A6 and Lexus CT200h. However, family friends had horrible stories of older Audi's so the A6 idea was tossed. The CT200h was nice but it was way to small and the acceleration was slow. Love the car. Feels a lot different from my 328i. The new turbo engine is not bad. The sound of the engine is the only downside. Outside it sounds really rough and you can hear a slight tick. Inside the cabin, the engine is barely audible but that's fine since this car is more of a passenger car. I also set my BMW remote app for the iPhone. Pretty cool that you can turn on the pathway lights, honk the horn, and unlock the car as opposed to just unlocking the car in the 328i.

Welcome, I am new here as well. You got a good deal. I too got a great deal on the last few days of the year as BMW was trying to move as many cars as possible. Here are my specs:
2012 528i Space Grey Black Dakota Premium Technology Comfort Access Heated Seats Sat Radio I have only had the car 6 days and I love it, much different from my 325i that was a pure joy to drive. This car is much more refined (i.e., luxury) and bigger. Its packed with technology. I agree with you regarding the engine sound. Sounds loud outside and ticks, but cannot be heard inside. My only complaint is that the Auto Start/Stop is not really smart. i wish I could turn it off permanently (versus each time). I love the car in Sport mode. Its a whoile different animal, and its great to have that option when you really want to do some spirited driving. Enjoy and share your experiecnes! |

I was a bit skeptical at first, but i must admit that they did not put an underpowered motor in there. In ECO mode the car can be a bit sluggish, but in normal COMFORT mode, you will never realize there is a 4 cyl in there. In SPORT mode the car is a complete animal in every way. I am very happy with the engine, and glad I waited for it.
