550i low/high beam question/replacement. HELP!!!

Good day! I bought new 8000k bulbs for my 2012 550i. it has xenons. correct me if im wrong, but it seems that the passenger side bulb is constant and when you use the brights, the driver side is the only bulb that is activated???? ASSUMING that is normal, how will installing these bulbs affect the use of my brights? will they still function? someone please help! here are the lights:

8000k? I think you may lose some light with those. Go for the 5000k genuine Philips or Sylvania bulbs. You won't sacrifice vision at night and you very rid of any yellow in the beam with 5000k.

Btw.. lighting should be equal on both sides and no, swapping bulbs will not affect anything. Just to be on the safe side make sure your headlight switch is not on the automatic position.

thats not what he asked ... but thanks mom

They should be the same, there might be fault, try switching to oem and see if it works, that way you can narrow it down

I just noticed you posted an ebay link (broken) but I can already probably tell the mistake is that they might be cheap non brand ones. I had 10$ ones in my old infiniti, they looked great but over time any small bump on the road or heavy turning they shut off out of no where.

Well i can see how the begining of my post may have been misleading but i havent installed the aftermarket bulbs yet lol. Im talking about the OEM bulbs that i have never touched being the ones that are acting up it seems. I havent even installed the aftermarket ones. I just bought the car 3 weeks ago and thought it was weird...so....both lights are supposed to be lows AND highs correct? Because only one of mine changes...very odd...

If its like my old 335i (i rarely use my highbeams) flicking the stalk forward towards the engine will illuminate your inner bulbs on a highbeam setting and flicking the stalk to the rear will activate the the main headlights on highbeam mode... or vice versa...

my passenger side bulb never changes brightness. ever. the driver side is the bulb that gets brighter. remember, these are the OEM bulbs and I have never touched them. this is very odd. perhaps something is genuinely wrong. I emailed BMW about it. these are the adaptive headlights as well btw...
