Updated with my BMW 520i
Recently I've installed few items.
K&N Filter Evolution Racewerks N20 4" Catless Downpipe TMC ECU Surprisingly result comparing with stock engine. Better torque, Faster response and additional driving experience. Anyone know is there any other tuning parts for BMW 520i N20 engine? (Besides: Exhaust. ) Stan |

I'd also be interested in tuning options for the N20. I have a 528i. Heard there are a couple chips available, but nothing substantial. And it doesn't appear that Dinan offers are any performance upgrades either.

I think you would probably want to look for an intercooler upgrade as a next step, although AFAIK there is none commercially available yet. |

The 528i ER 4inch cat less is compatible with the 520i Downpipe. I love the sound of my exhaust now! It still baby friendly type of sound. I will try and record and show you how was it. The next parts for my 520i must be suspension system. I am considering KW v3 suspension. Correct me if there are any other choices. |

Hi Stan 0
I've been told by Jeff @ BMS that 520i uses a different downpipe and they do not carry the downpipe for them. Are you sure your downpipe is ER 4" Catless Downpipe? thx |

Is it just me or anyone else feeling like me?
Here is my problem, not picking on your car, but in general on F10 with tiny engines, tens of thousands of dollars spent on aftermarket parts and installation, voiding factory warranty and you still end up with 520i or 520D!!! Car looks like it want to be an M5 (at least looks of it) but will be smoked by every Civic SI, Golf R32 and many many others. To me personally, BMW has always been about handling, practicality, power, prestige and tons of smiles, not looking fast but not having any balls to stand up to other brands and smoking them. Did i mention resale value of cars heavily modified vs bone stock??? I understand this is a topic for a completely separate thread. I just happened to see way too many "posers" I had e39s for 8 years before my f10, and every single aftermarket mod i did to my cars and cars of my family, i regretted it,. Aftermarket makes cars age faster!!! BMW goes to great lengths to make sure everything works perfectly together, yet there are ppl that think they know better than best engineers in the world. Look at e34 in original condition, its BEAUTIFUL! E39, Timeless (E60 not so much) but my point is simple, keep cars original and they will repay you tri-fold!! When was the last time you thought, i really want to buy a car that was heavily modified by somebody with parts from ebay!!??? Never! Just my $0.02 |

It is so good to pay the price of 520 and get the performance of a 528 usung external chip
Warranty will not be a concern if you remove the chip before maintenance or simply install it after the warranty peroid! Quote:

You are correct that Aftermarket makes cars age faster
However for 520 & 528, i think its a different story as their engines are the same The tuning restrictions, if removed, just bring back the norm performance of n20 like JB of iphone Last edited by fung0001; 09-22-2013 at 02:15 AM.. |

Perhaps you will further understand if you are going to have average driving speed of 30km/hr even without traffic jam, and driving at 90mph is license revoking. |
