F10 M5 vs. F80 M3

What advantages does the F10 M5 have over the F80 M3? I have an opportunity coming up to either pick up a BMW Individual F80 M3 or a (likely Base model) CPO F10 M5 with <20k miles.

Help me decide.

I've had both M3 and F10 and I'd take the F10 any day of the week, particularly the M5 for the following reasons - the exhaust note (def not a fan); I'm also 6'4" so headroom and legroom is important (rear passengers will also love you); sports seats in the M5 are sensationally comfortable and envelope you (comparatively the M3 seats are like sitting on a wooden crate); I can't get used to the exhaust sound on the F80 M3 (and M4); and the F10 will have a vastly bigger and more sophisticated range of options. Did I mention the exhaust note??

if you track, M3 will be superior but I agree as above the M5 gives you a great package overall performance and luxury.

M5 hands down! Unless u never had an F10 before than you'll know what most people mean when they talk about head/leg room especially for the passengers in the back. But you'll appreciate the interior as well...not so much the audio but seems like audio in any BMW suck balls!

All things being equal I would get the M5 over the M3.

Nothin wrong with BMW's F10 LCI Entertainment Package - Harman Kardon, 12 speakers (I think). I hear some peeps groan when I say that but I do have B&O at home so I'm not without an understanding of clarity and bass

Also the interior of the M5 is far superior than the M3. Both are excellent cars, but the F10 is just so sweet.

F80 M3: Is lighter than the M5, feels more agile, better handling, but the exhaust is deffinetely not my cup of tea.

F10 M5: Is obviously heavier than the M3, but the interior quality is much better, and you can't go wrong with that V8.

Personally i would pick the M5, but you have to drive both before deciding.
