What's the best after market exhaust for a 535?

I'm looking to upgrade my exhaust and wanted to get some feedback on the best cost vs. benefits. I don't want to go all out spending too much money. The least expensive one I see out there is Megan brand...
thx,
Tony

Ive heard a lot of good things about the oem m6 exhaust. Its a custom work so dont expect it to be bolt on.

E46speed has a used megan for sale. Another member, arthur, has m6 muffler for sale.

I would go with the m6 and use quad 4" tips. See Lacsters latest setup. He's had at least 3 exhaust setup and likes m6 the best.

+1 on a (slightly used) M6 exhaust setup.

I have heard it in person last month. Deep throaty with little or no drone.

If you don't care about drone (between 1500 - 2500 rpm range), then any aftermarket ones will do, pending on your budget.

is there a particular year of the M6 exhaust or will any E63/64 M6 (2005–2010) work?

^ No particular year ... as long as it's the E63/64 M6

There will be a small bit of mod to make it fit.

I looked into getting the M6 mufflers retro fitted but it looks like it will take a lot of work to make it look good. I'm starting to lean toward Megan brand. I hear there is little drone if any to be concerned about....

According to reivews, there are still droning around the 1500- 2000rpm range. (The drone level is really subjective to one's personal taste and therefore to some it's crazy annoying but to others they like the noise.)

Just google and check out some Youtube clips

I've got the Megan exhaust and the drone isn't that bad. I also took a resonator out and put a catless downpipe in. That made it sound aggressive and raspy

so are you saying if I only change the mufflers, the sound should be unpleasing without being annoying?

Love my Megan exhaust, can't beat it for the price you pay.

I have the M6 mod with quad tip and it wasn't so difficult of a fit. Sound is great! There is still a slight drone around 2500 rpm when traveling 60mph but not so bad.

Everyone seems to like the Megan exhaust. I tend to not be a fan of an axleback only set up. If I am going to lop off my exhaust, I might as go all the way to the cats.
