535i front noise

Just got a 2011 535i, and when I go over a decent size bump (or hump), with the wheel turned (either way) I get a "clunking/rattle" noise from the front of the car.

I'm a decent mechanic.......sounds like front struts to me. Just seems weird that BOTH right and left would be doing the same thing. I can't replicate the noise if I sit on the front fenders and bounce on the car though.....which leads me to it being something else. Almost sounds like something is loose????

Any ideas????

I've noticed a similar noise on the wife's 2008 528 xi, but only in colder weather (below freezing). I don't believe that CT is that cold quite yet though

Did the former owner install springs to lower the car?

I know there's a recall for the bearing on the car. My car was also making a noise when I turned the wheel left. It was on the left driver side. I cant find the paperwork at the moment so I cant tell you the recall numbers. But if you take it in they can look it up.
