My 2013, with 70,000KM the drivers side door panel leather is wearing off. Have others faced this issue? I am surprised it has worn in this area out of all the other areas.
My leather colour according to the vin is called Vento Beige. LEDER DAKOTA/DF VENETOBEIGE (LCDF) I have BMW CPO extended warranty but I doubt this is even covered. Has anyone had good experience with BMW leather dye from online company's? Picture attached. It looks like dirt which what I thought I was trying to clean it and it just made it worse as leather colour just started to come off. |

I suppose that is what you hold while opening/closing the door, or you rest your arm on while driving? I have the black dakota leather and after 6 years looks like new. This why I love black leather. I have an MB with light grey and its a disaster

I have the same issue, I have 35000 miles. Quick easy fix is you need to dye the leather. You need a biscuit color spray paint to fix this. Spray the color on a towel and rub on affected area.

Yeah I was looking at ordering this, but the spray paint idea would be cheaper. What's it's longevity?

Same colour, same issue, and looking forward to trying the dye solution.

Do you use type of leather cleaner and conditioner? i rest my forearm on mine all the time but nowhere does it look like yours. it does get dirty but wipes off easily. i've got 89k on the odometer and wondering if the conditioner i use keeps it from doing what you're having?

I have exactly the same problem on my 2012 550iX at 97,000 miles. My color is Oyster, just ordered the kit "HelixBmw" suggested (in Oyster) from eBay. Will report back once I have tried it

Sorry to disappoint but the door cards are vinyl not leather. Hence the wear issue.

Thanks for the reply. I checked my window sticker and according to it I have beige Dakota leather. What color should I order? You know BMW is so cheap that it blows my mind sometimes. I think my 2016 Golf TSi has better quality interior than my BMW does; it is pathetic.

I got the kit yesterday, but I have a few questions before I take on the task- Did you guys use the foam applicator to apply the colorant, and if so how much of it did you use? Since driver side armrest has more wear is it better to dothe whole section
(it is advised per the instructions), or just touch up the affected area only? Thanks. |
