Full postcode search?

Week 35 build F10 and F11 cars are supposed to have this feature on the professional and business nav for UK postcodes. Has anyone got a car with this on it and how well does it work?

I'm especially interested in whether the first batch of UK F11s have it as that's what I'm getting shortly.

Mine was finished in the week ending 10th Sept, which is week 36. So I'm hoping mine will have it.

I wonder how easy it is to get it updated to the latest version. Anyone tried this?

Hi John,
The info I saw said post code search comes in with week 35.
So sadly your car may not have it at least right now if it was built in week 34.
I would push your dealer I don't see why you can't get a software update and get the post code search! Good luck!
Cheers
Paul

full post code....

As I understand it the full post code search was added at the same time as the Combox upgrade.

My car was due to be built in mid_august but I pushed it back to get the Combox/post code updates... arrives at dealer on 13th Oct picking up on 16th Oct....

I paid for the car IN FULL at the beginning of June as I was fearful the VAT would go up in the Budget....STUPID!!!!!! Anyway, the dealer has had the full purchase price for four months.... silly boy, but at the time it seemed like a good idea....

Anyway, a week on Saturday I will get my F10 Combox/520d/auto... Imperial blue, beige dakota leather, prof sat nav, and LIGHT ASH WOOD.....

...I have put this in capitals as very few people in the UK seem to have gone for this option and dealers do not carry it...

....so I intend to post lots of pics of the light ash wood... I think it will be lovely, nay, BRILLIANT, but I am a tad concerned, in case it is shite... cost £325 (I think) dealer said it costs £1,500 to change.... gulp....

Mines an F10, not sure on build week but it arrived at dealer 24th Sept, it has full postcode search. but its lacking a bit, my home postcode only shows one house number in my street.

Just checked and mine was a Week 36 car.

Not quite, for the F11 the new combox was from the start of the build, and the upgraded post code search was for week 35 build onwards. So it looks like some people have week 34 build F11s with the new combox and the old iDrive software.

The dealer checked my car today and it has the full postcode search, so that's a relief. Just need to figure out why I don't have all the iPhone app features when I get the car on Friday.

Hi All.

My F10 is a pre September build also and I had a recall from the dealer for a re-program. The car went into the dealer yesterday, the re-program failed so they have had to keep it today also. I'm just awaiting the call to say come and pick it up. I will check if the full post code entry is on there.

The car has also experienced other issues (see thread entitled "Remote failed to work")..

I collected my F10 on 28th September; I don't know what the build week was, the sticker just says 'September 10'.
The dealer told me that there would soon be a software update to include full postcode search and that he'd let me know when to bring the car in for the upload.
Well, all this discussion prompted me to check and, guess what, it's all there.
Yet another example to illustrate that car salesmen really have their fingers on the pulse .

progress is what you call the constant upgrade you get in thecomputer industry but not having a ECU (6vc comb-box) ready for the original march kick-off must result at BMW Munich to lose their job.

it is not that someone just came up with the combbox overnight - this things must have been in teh development pipeline for over 4 years (as is with any other electronics part of a car) and to miss out by 6 months is just ridiclous....

Anyone managed to get full UK postcode search as a software update to their car which was originally shipped without it?
