2013 M Sport suspension vs. DDC
Hi all! Newb here needing some info. Pretty close to ordering a 550i with M sport package but but cannot decide on the M sport suspension which is standard, the DDC alone or the Dynamic handling package (AD & DDC). The BMW website has no information on the M sport suspension and calling them didn't do me any good either. I drove one the other day with the M sport package but did not notice if it had DDC. Only thing I did notice is that I felt just about every crack in the road. What does the M sport suspension consist of and how does it compare to the DDC or the Dynamic handling package? I read somewhere the the M sport suspension sits 10mm lower which would be appealing but also read it was only 10 mm lower on the euro model. If I build the car on the website, select the M sport package, click the options tab and select DDC... (If you're zoomed in) you can see the car raise just a hair. I'd love a lower stance but which would be better as far as ride quality?
Any help would appreciated |

The standard Msport Susp is a Passive mechanical suspension.
It features lower ride height, stiffer springs/shocks, thicker anti-roll bars. I love this setup - the car drives awesome and the steering feel is FIRM and direct at all times - not just at high speeds. If u dont care about good handling and steering feel - or value comfortable ride more - DDC is the way to go. (I personally hated it) DHP - never drove one, so cant say.
