So...I brought back 5 spare F10 rear fog light switches with me when I moved from Germany last month. I'd like to pass them on to forum members that want them. I did the conversion on my F10 and it took all of 5 minutes. I didn't need to reprogram anything, the new switch just worked.

Now for the cost. The switches cost me 68 euro each, and then I sent them USPS insured to me here in Ohio. All in, I'm into each switch for $102.00, which is cheap because I didn't have to pay the 19% VAT. So the cost you is $102.00 plus shipping (your choice of shipper and insurance is required) to your house. If you want to use Paypal, you'll also need to add the 3% that it will cost me to receive the money. It will take me a day or so to get you a shipping cost because I have been back in the US all of 2 days, and have no idea where UPS or a post office is.

I'm not looking to make any money off the switches, but I flatout refuse to lose money. I'm not open to anything lower than my asking price. Worst case if I can't sell them, I'll put them on Ebay and take my chances. Usual story, I only have 5 switches, so it's on a first come, first served basis.

This may be dumb.
But what does this do?
I know what it is based on your description. But what can I do with this or what will it function based on what I have.

Sorry for the dumb question.....

US spec cars do not have the rear foglight option. Rear foglights will make the rear lights brighter, somewhere between parking lights on and brake lights on. Apparently using this switch will allow US spec cars to have the rear fog function.

I dont know if Canadian cars have rear fog option.

I had a feeling thats what it would do. Similar to my Audi previously. Anyone know how to check if Canadian F10's can support this?

My 2006 Audi A8L and my 2010 Mercedes Ml350 both have this option.

Here's the thread that helped me decide I was going to change my switch out. I did it because it was such an easy mod and was relatively cheap.

they are simply just brighter, same color intensity as if the brakes are applied ... I have seen them around in other European cars, mostly VW.

Actually, to me it's a bit annoying as I don't really know if the driver has applied his brakes or not.

Thats why it glows between park light and brake light, at least that's how it is on MBZ. If the fogs are as bright as brake lights then there's no telling when the car is braking, very dangerous.

Rear fog light switches

I've packaged up all the switches and they're ready to go out tomorrow. You all should have recieved an email from me. If you didn't let me know.

On a side not fhinfo posted a how-to video in the DYI section. Now you can visually see how easy this mod is.
