A moment of Silence...18 years ago today

18 years ago we all lost the greastest F1 driver ever. He was also an amazing and giving person and a tenacious competitor. You will always be greatly missed.

And conversely, it's been 18 years since the last death in F1, the longest period in history without a fatality.

If anyone hasn't seen the documentary today would be a good day to watch it.

RIP Ayrton. Still why I watch F1, hoping to catch a glimpse of his passion in the current drivers. I was just starting a ten hour drive when I learned he'd died, made for a really long, somber drive.

that crash still fresh in my head, i'll always remember. Same goes for the late Gilles Villeneuve. Two great drivers who'd died too young.

Man. 18 years ago. As I recall in the training first Ratzenberger went out(RIP) and in the race Senna. Incredible.

But I also recall Kurt Cobain killing himself that week(?) Or what? EDIT April 5th 1994. Seems to me like at that same moment back then.

RIP to him too.

I was quite young when he passed away so i did not know of him at the time. But, myself as a person who has a passion for automobiles and professional racing of any type (WRC, LeMans, F1, etc) I respect the man for his skill and his accomplishments. May he rest in peace.

Also, i highly recommend anyone who has a love of cars or racing to watch the documentary.
