F48?

Anyone got a F48 as well as a F10? Would be interested in your opinions of the car.

Posted over in the X1 forum, however would be interested in the views of F10 owners who also have a F48. Time is approaching to change my wife's car, she won't have anything too large and wants 4/5 doors so that rules out so many cars! She currently has the A Class, has had two 1 Series in the past and I won't consider VW/Audi, the F48 seems a good option...

Besides it reminds me of a small version of my previous E70, aptly named The Beast by my daughters!

Not looking for alternative recommendations, just feedback on this car thanks.

I had E48 as a loaner for few days and, well, wasn't exactly blown away by it. I wasn't necessarily the engine, but just the car as a whole, handling, interior fit and finish, road noise, it was OK, but not crazy impressive - though I did like the heavier steering feel. Same generation X3 was much nicer car in my opinion (not sure about the price difference).

Few months later while waiting for service to complete, I had a chat with sales guy I know well (he knew I had no interest in X1 whatsoever, no reason for "sales pitch"), and he claims that F48 is much improved vehicle over the previous one.

Worth checking one out with your wife and finding out for yourself.

Agree previous one was hideous!

Went and drove one today, although I forgot my licence as we only went to have a browse. So I had to just go along for the ride, with my wife doing the driving....

Lovely car, very spacious considering the footprint and boot space is huge. Interior is lovely but obviously not the same standard as the F10, but this is to be expected I suppose.

Ride is very good, firm but not overtly so. Body control through the corners seemed good as it stayed flat and composed. That's all I could pick up as a passenger, will go back and drive it myself but it's going to be my wife's car and she really liked it.

I'm adding lots of options (ticked almost every box &#128512 so it will have all the goodies associated with larger more expensive cars.

I think we will buy it, I just put a proposal forward to the sales executive of what I want to pay for it this evening which he will get back to me on tomorrow.

The new model, to me at least, looks a lot better than E48, and according to the sales guy I mentioned earlier, drives a lot better too.

Good luck, hope you get the deal you want, I'm sure your wife will be happy.
