Traded-in my 2012 328i 6MT for 2012 535i 6MT
I want to share my happiness with you all.
3 months back I bought 2012 328i SportLine 6MT MWM Coral Red Interior. I like the design but was very disappointed with performance and handling. I have decided to change this car and started searching for different options. Mainly I was looking for an used car to level up the huge depreciation. I was considering 335i Coupe 6MT, S4 6MT, 535i 6MT. Somehow nothing worked out until last night I saw 2012 535i 6MT for $53870 MSRP at BMWRockville, MD. And $6000 discount on MSRP. Immediately I called the dealer and made an appointment and even received the trade-in for my 328i over the phone itself. As I live in Philadelphia it's 2hr 45min drive to Rockville, MD. Started early morning and went to the dealer signed the deal and came back home with the new car. I financed both with BMW finance. Details of the deal. Trade-in value 2012 328i: $35000 (I bought it for $40000) Miles Driven: 5400 Interest Rate on 328i: 11.79% Details of 2012 535i MSRP: $53870 Dealer/BMW Discount: $6000 Loyalty: $750 Ultimate Drive App Discount: $500 TeamUSA discount: $1000 Total Discount: $8250 And another best part is my Interest Rate got reduced to 5.79% It was overwhelming joy for me at the dealership this morning. What I miss in my 328i: Coral Red Interior, Bluetooth Audio streaming and Cup holders What I am getting with 535i: Xenons, power Seats, Moonroof, V6, more HP and obviously higher class. |

Congrats. Since my early Fiver days (E34), it's always made me happy to see a Five with a stick out in the world! Glad to hear about another one going to an appreciative owner.

Wow didn't know they made them that cheap; seems like it doesn't have a single option/package on it? And it's got 6spd manual?? That's got to be the most oddly optioned car. Congrats!

Thanks. I can add my cell phone in Bluetooth Audio list, but the multimedia list is not showing the connected device. I still need to play with these settings.

It has only one option "SPLIT FOLD-DOWN REAR SEAT " This car is not cheap. Just the purchase timing is good because of the current deals. If I have to make a custom build I will lose most of the ongoing deals. Anyhow I would have not ordered any options other than Cinamon Brown Interior , Dynamic Handling Package if I build my own. |

So no nav? No comfort access? Leather (or is that standard now?). No rear view camera? No parking sensors? No heated seats? I would never pay $53K for a car that lacks all those options. If my budget was in that range I would rather get a better optioned 335 or even a different brand. I know you got a great price but your going to have a hell of a time selling that car

Wow! That's a pretty good deal!!! Like others have said, i would rather get fully loaded in whatever series or brand I could before a bare bones anything. But at the end of the day it's your car and your happiness. So congrats again and welcome to the F10 club!

Also I will hurt myself really bad selling 3months old car and was trying to find a better deal. And when it comes to the options, it's the personal opinion. I will explain you my opinion on that Nav -- I use a cell phone GPS. I will even try to mirror cellphone screen on the dashboard display. But first thing I will put on a pro-clip mount and i'm good to go. Comfort Access--It will be useful in winter, but I don't crave for this feature. Rear-View camera ==> I rather pay little money to remove this feature from my car rather than using it if it comes standard. Leather--> Yes it is standard Parking Sensors==> useful feature. Heated Seats ==> I have it in other cars that I owned and never used even in winter. All I need in a car is power, handling, manual trans, Bluetooth, beautiful Int&Ext, Very good music system. I don't want to worry about the price I get while selling the car. I always trade-in. I am expecting to keep this car minimum for 5 years. I have a list of things I have to do on my 535i. 1.) Change the side mirrors and rear mirror. Don't like the stock mirrors. No proper visibility. 2.) If there is a way, I want to go for tightening of the steering in sport mode. 3.) Find ways to get sport handling by lowering car or whatever possible. 4.) Tune to increase horse power. |

So, having more options will hurt more when selling. |

Honestly, is BMW trying to offer the ///M look to branch the 5 to the M5? Looking at the comparison, it seems the M sport is pretty much the exact look of the M5. I wish they could just keep the M5 look special just to the M... |
