Pre LCI headlights to LCI headlights Retrofit Question

Dumb question...as I know it's nearly impossible with these cars..and obviously not easily done but worth the ask...

Wondering if i can retrofit my 2011 535i Adaptive Bi Xenon Headlights to the new 2014+ headlight assembly..

Is this possible or would it be too much of a headache to retrofit...

Had an Pre-LCI E60 many years ago which I did manage to retrofit to the LCI ones but needed a lot of recabling, coding, etc... don't want to do it if it's gonna be much the same...

Anyone tried this yet?

Do you mean change over to the LED headlights? If you are asking about changing over to Xenon, its not much of an upgrade if at all. You will also lose the LED signal lights.

No worth it unless you're going for the new LED headlights. IMO, the newer bixenon headlights doesn't look as good because it's missing the side LED signal cluster. If you swap, you will need to swap the side mirrors too.

I believe you also need to recode too. It's too much money and work. It's probably not cheap either. If you're going to do that, you might as well spend that money swapping to the new all digital instrument cluster and/or infotainment/nav system.

Although I do like the pre-LCI LED signal lights better, the LCI xenon does look pretty good with the light up eyebrows and amber light tube on the side. The halo light also lights up more evenly, no hot spot on the bottom.

Yes...hence I wanted to change...I like the eyebrows and amber light tube...
I didn't know they were LED headlights...in which case it'll be, as stated above, too hard to change.

But i do like the led turn signal cluster on my existing..

Oh well...thanks guys for the input. Might just stick with the ones I got.

The LED headlights have the signal light on the eyebrow, whereas the xenon has it on the side.
