Vibration After New Wheels Installed

I have a 2016 535 M-Sport. I had my new wheels installed about a month ago and I notice some vibration in the front passenger seat. The seat starts to vibrate around 65mph+. It'll vibrate then go away and then vibrate again.

I've had the tire shop balance it twice and I still notice the vibration. The vibration isn't as bad after the second re-balance but the vibration is still noticeable. Steering wheel doesn't shake just the passenger seat.

I've read older posts about vibrations but there has not been a clear cut resolution. Anyone else experience any vibration after putting on aftermarket wheels?

I want to get some coilovers installed but not sure if that would make the issue worse.

Make sure the hub bore of the wheel is the same size as the hub. If they are aftermarket wheels chances are really good you will need hub-centering rings.

If they are BMW factory wheels I've got nothing...

You need to make sure to get a Road Force balance. Vibration in the front seat typically indicates a problem with one of the rear wheels. I've been through this and can tell you that each tire/wheel assembly needs to have no more than 10 lbs of road force to ensure a smooth ride with the F10 chassis. Use http://www.hunter.com/gsp9700 to find a shop in your area, call them and ask about the Road Force balance. Make sure they do a true road force where each tire is matched to the wheel to ensure the lowest road force value. Many shops won't do this and will just balance the assembly as it is. Finally if you don't get the answers you are looking for, call another shop.

Let us know how it goes.

Usually helpful to provide details like wheel and tire specs in a post asking for help with vibration after new wheels.

I also have a steering wheel and floor vibration problem and for this reason
asked a road force balance to tires wshop ... the answer was this method is very old and with the precise tolerances which the modern wheels are realized, a good balancing is enough...

They're lazy, don't know what it is or how to do one.

+1 on Road Force Balance

3 visits to independent shop that was Tirerack.com installer = vibrations on highway

1 visit to BMW dealer with RF machine and all back to normal, dealer was cheaper too!
