Vibration when braking through entire car. F11
I've got some vibration on my F11 535D
Vibration is most noticeable between 20-70mph ish. When the car vibrates badly, if I brake harder it tends to reduce slightly. I also get this when I use the brake function on cruise control... Is it true that the cruise brake function only uses the rear or is this not the case? If true then I guess the issue is the rear of the car? The vibration is felt more through the car body than the steering wheel and pedal. Strange thing is that it comes and goes, some days its almost fine, then others its really bad? More recently it seems to be getting worse though . |

If the steering wheel doesn't shake while braking it's likely the rear. Jack the car up and pull the wheels. Look for large discoloured areas on the rotors. If the fronts look markedly better than the rears, it's likely the rears.

Checked car last night.
Only issue I found was slight play on the passenger side inner tie rod end. So I will look at replacing the tie rod (looking at about £40-50ish for the part for a decent brand like Lemforder). Strange as I would think this would have been felt through the steering not the entire car. |
