Oil Level between "max' and "min" level after first scheduled Annual Oil Change

So I had my annual oil change which is part of the first annual service for my 2012 BMW 550. I noticed that the oil level is between the max and min levels after the oil change. Is this the normal amount of oil the dealer should have added? The reason I ask is because with all previous oil changes on my previous E92 335i, the dealer added oil to the point where the gauge showed the oil being at the "max" level. In fact I had a oil change done on this 550 @ 3.5K miles at the same dealership and the oil level was at "max" level after the oil change.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.....

I would expect it to read at the max after an oil change.

go back to the dealer and ask for top up.

sounds like you are about 1/2 to 1 litre short.

max is exactly what it means MAX. In the middle is perfect. For example, if the spec is 7 liters, if drained long enough to get as much oil out as possible and you put in 7 liters, it will put it between min and max. If you add more to get it to max, you are actually putting in more oil then the spec, but its still within the "range". Its fine @ the middle point dont worry about it.
