Retrofit heated steering wheel

I have a base model sedan that has the power adjust for the steering wheel, but no heating function. I was looking to upgrade/rewrap the generally thin, crappy steering wheel, and ended up buying a used steering wheel with heat here in the for sale section. I was also able to track down the switch for the side of the steering column that has both power adjust and heat. But the switch itself sits in there pretty flush and tight. Anyone have any ideas as to how to pop that switch out without damaging it so I can swap the switch and see if a heated steering wheel will work? I haven't been able to track anything down in the DIY section or on YouTube. I am afraid to go exploring, and don't really have the free time to try to figure it out through trial and error.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

You will also need the correct heated option SZL, wiring, and coding. Just installing the switch and heated wheel will bring no joy.

The switch pops out from the back side when you pull the wheel.

Damn, I was kind of hoping the wiring harness would be standard so I could just plug in the wheel and switch. I figured some coding might be required.

Do you know what additional wiring would be required? Is this at all feasible, or should I just move on to re-wrapping the steering wheel?

You'll have to run wiring from the JBE to the SZL, add fusing, its a bit of a job. I don't know of any retrofit guides or any technical bulletins on the subject.

Hey I have a question, I have two F10 bmw's. One of them has a heated steering wheel option while the other does not but they both have the same steering wheels (looks wise). Could I swap the steering wheel from the non heated one to the heated one and will it heat up when i turn the switch on?
