Xenon lights RHD/LHD

Hello All

I have been an avid follower of this forum for several months and have just ordered the following

BMW 520d Touring
Space Grey
Sports Auto
Visibility pack
18 328 V spoke
Black Dakota
USB
Heated front seats
DAB
HiFi Professional Dirac
Reversing Camera (for Swmbo) (actually she is better at parking than me)

Delivery Mid March

The Car will be brought from the UK and exported to Belgium where we live. The car will be VAT free and with a nice discount on top so very pleased, although it is still alot of money to me. My question is for people with the Visibility pack is there an option in the I drive to change the beam on the Xenons from RHD to LHD or to flatten the beam for driving in Europe. I know that on alot of VAG cars there is a touring option is there anything similar on the new 5 series or are there physical switches on the lights themselves.

Sorry for long post and promise to post photos upon arrival Thanks in advance

i dont have xenons but in the user guide it shows a lever in the back of the headlights that can be used to switch to LHD, the normals have a smaller switch apparently for chnging RHD to LHD.

Yes the Xenons have a lever for simple user RHD / LHD adjustment.

Are you buying a right hand drive or left hand drive?

Hello Adam,

I bought my car in the UK as well but I had to pay the VAT in Belgium in order to register the car in Belgium (I now drive the car with Belgian license plates).

I'm curious about the reason why you don't have to pay VAT in Belgium ?
Will you register your car in the UK and drive with UK license plates here in Belgium ?
Do you benefit from a special treatment here in Belgium as expat or EU employee ?

Congrats on your future ride, Dirac sound system is awesome.

Karmakal , I work for Nato same regulation as Eu therefore we fall under the sofa agreement and are entitled to purchase a tax free car. Looking forward to the Dirac sound system although not if my wife chooses the music.

Quite a similar spec to my F11 although I have regular 17 inch wheels, audio and normal auto but on the plus side I have heated electric sports seats, professional nav and electric tailgate. Didn't you order any nav for you car? The reversing camera is pretty useful as it's quite a big car to park.

Did not order the Nav, Love the look of it but won't use it too often when back in the UK and the main reason was I have hit the budget wall. My wife did not like the sports seats (I think it was the thought of me cornering faster ) although I thought they were cool. Tried out the reverse camera on a mates Audi and thought it's actually very good at night when i thought it would be poor so it was a last minute addition.

Looking at accesories now anybody got the BMW rubber mats are they good quality ?
