Newbie with new (to me) '14 535xi
Great forum, been reading up and it has helped me take the plunge on the CPO 2014 535xi (13,400 miles) I am picking up from a dealer here in STL tomorrow - details:
-Imperial Blue -Ivory Nappa Leather -Cold Weather -Lux Seating -M Sport -Premium -2TB Sport shift w paddles (denoted as $500 option) -323 soft close doors -3AG rear view camera -508 Park distance control -688 HK surround -Z06 back kidney grilles (not grills for some reason...) -set of all weather mats Asked $39,995, agreed on $38,000 with full tank, new set of carpet mats (PN 51477351387), two key fobs, original manuals/guides/documents and a copy of the original window sticker (MSRP $70,215 (I'm told)). Original warranty (including full maintenance excluding tires) runs to April 2018, then two more years of the CPO coverage. Could have done a bit better on price by finding a non-CPO, higher mileage version, but with shipping and lack of extended coverage, I think it's a wash. We have bought cars from this dealer in the past (5 series wagon and two Infinitis) and the sales/service experience has been first rate. Looking forward to (re)joining the ranks (also had a 5 speed 318i and a 325i back in the day) and following the forum. Cheers! |

Nice car, low miles, CPO, what's not to like? I really enjoy nappa lux seating and HK on my '14. Congrats!

No mods in mind right away - it has a blacked out looking front end, which is very sharp. Reading up on here, looks like I may want to switch to smoother running tires when the time comes. I also see a lot of 'coding' discussed, but not really sure what that entails and what the upgrade/mod choices are with doing the coding.
I also see a lot of ventilated seat discussion, most of it derogatory on the quality - that's a downer, as I use that feature all the time, as I run hot, and having just relocated to STL, I'm being greeted with 100 degree plus temps this week. I love the wheels, restrained M-type ground effects, black grill(e) - I don't think there is anything else exterior-wise I'm looking for. Q: Compared to the orig warranty, what does the CPO warranty I will have through 2020 NOT cover. This is the regular CPO, not the upper tier warranty. I assume there is a deductible... I'll miss the Tundra, but with the rear seats down, I may be able to keep up with the wife's daily need for recycling of boxes (Amazon, etc...). _____ Other cars in the house: 2018 Volvo v90 Inscription/2007 Jaguar XKR Convertible Pix later. Here's what's not covered by CPO:
http://cpo.bmwusa.com/Content/docs/B...NotCovered.pdf I use the ventilated seats almost every day in this hot summer. It's true that the perforated nappa isn't as durable as Dakota but you just need to take care of it. MyCarly is a simple and easy way to do coding for typical preferences that aren't available through the car's iDrive settings. http://www.mycarly.com/product/bmw-codings/

It's near mint(y). Cannot see the ding they removed. Back tomorrow to pick up new mats and dealer is going to refurb the bit of curb rash on the wheels. Details: Remove dealer sticker on back hatch and learn the infotainment system - what is consensus on Logic 7 - -on or off? Leaning off.

Congrats looks great
Personally I'd debadge it, the trunk lid will look so much cleaner and less cluttered because of the extra xdrive badge. I debadge all my car's regardless of engine size... |

Add the body color side reflectors (they use the OEM base regardless of color) and gloss black wheel caps - all set. Don't forget the body color side/back reflectors

Site for roundels, etc
The IND sites I'm finding do not have the gloss black roundels I've seen here - does anyone have a link to the correct site for those and the upgraded side reflectors and caps? Thanks - I'll keep looking in the interim.

I'm not at a computer, but I dealt with Ryan at IND. They had to order one of the roundels before painting it. I think he's on these boards
Or, the old fashioned way - a phone call https://ind-distribution.com/

Consider some paint protection film on the front M Sport bumper. It's a freaking bug & rock chip magnet. And a pain to clean because of the various indents and plastic trim pieces. |
