I need a new wheel cap for an 18" OEM wheel. Can somebody confirm that the correct size is 65 mm?

We don’t have enough info to help you because as you have found out…there are different sizes depending on what type of hub cap your BMW wheel has. There are more than one 18” wheel for your car.

Look up your wheel style in one of the online part database sites…and it will have info as to which hub cap you need. If the diameter of the hub cap is not listed in the part number index below the diagram…then copy the 11 digit BMW part number that is listed…then just google that number (ie “BMW xx xx x xxx xxx” {where x = the actual numbers}). YOu will find more than enough info about the correct size you need when you google BMW & the part number for you wheel’s hub cap.

If it happens to be one of the most common hub caps (like #4 in the diagram below of wheel style 281)…then that is BMW part # 36 13 6 783 536 …and is a 68mm Roundel.

If you have the wheel style below…you would need #5 and that hub cap insignia is 64.5mm. So to prevent ordering/buying the wrong size…get the correct BMW part number for your wheel..then shop using the correct 11 digit BMW part number. This will reduce the chances of buying the wrong part.
