First wash

First week of having the car and it was caked in Motorway muck, then today it was a glorious Sunny day & 16 degree outside, so there was only one way to spend the day:

1) Spray on the rubbish alloy wheel cleaner that BMW give you as part of the seal and protect.
2) Then spent 15 mins per alloy scrubbing away with the excellent alloy wheel brush that BMW give you as part of the seal and protect. Lots of water and a small sponge (my ladylike wrists & hands were great to get into the nooks and cranny's!) in a small bucket and lots of elbow grease.
3) Mix up the shampoo mild Dodo Juice in a normal sized bucket with a grit guard:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dodo-Juice-B.../dp/B002OHQI5S
4) Wet the car with a water from a new Hozelock hose, washing away some of the grime.
5) Put on a Dodo Juice microfibre glove:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
6) Gently wash each part of the car with the glove.
7) Wash off with water
8) Dry the car with Turtle Wax Ice Microfibre large drying cloth:
http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-TW4.../dp/B0027LB5TA
9) Apply Armorall wheel dressing onto alloy wheels:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
10) Apply Autoglym tyre dressing onto alloy(pants!): wheels:http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Then the amazing finish.
11) Spend 1 hour applying and buffing the polish,Poorboys Blackhole show finish:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
12) Stand back and admire my hard work.

I must admit that the Poorboys blackhole show finish is fantastic stuff. It feels smooth to the touch and provides a mirror like shine to the car. It looks even better than the dealers prep.
Here are the results of my much valued and appreciated hard work:

The amazing MFD

Here are some pics of the MFD.
I will also try and upload some pics of the HUD(incredible feature).

First image is in Sport mode and the second in Comfort mode.
Both modes have the active cruise control mode on. I tend to drive with the active cruse control ready, as it activates all of the safety sensors.

MFD really is the unsung hero of the F10, why do BM keep it so quiet, and barely even put it on demonstrators is beyond me!

Very shiny indeed.
Looking at the MFD, I miss the trip meter, yours only shows time, odometer and temp.

But there's still only room for three different parameters, right? So I think that's a step back compared to the 6WA display.
Any info in the middle besides when using the navigation?

Good point Beanie. I've got HUD on all of the time so I don't get anything in the middle, unless I turn the HUD off.

If the HUD is on you mention you do not get the info in the rev counter. Do you get a display of telephone and music info on the HUD.
Some pictures of the different display modes would be great

Hi NigeNige,

When you're using the rotary jog to scroll through tracks it is displayed in the HUD. So is the name or phone number if someone tries calling you.

The machine still never fails to amaze me with its level of technology.
Driving into work this morning at 6.30am in the heavy fog on some country roads and on the HUD, an amber triangle with a stick man appeared in it. With the words Pedestrian warning!
And surly enough about 100 yards away I passed a person who had just crossed the road.
The car sensed the limited visibility and warned me...incredible, I didn't know that I had this functionality.
Terrible fog this morning.

Why is the new car smell so intoxicating, its like a drug and I find myself taking a whiff whenever I'm in the car.

BMW have recommended that the dealer replace with new trailing arm suspension brushes that are normally fitted to a 7 series. Goes in next week to get it sorted.

Sorted, no vibration at all.
I can feel lots of feedback from the road though.

You mean some negative feedback, as if the trailing link is now fitted with harder bushes?

I know about BMW car history thank you. After you car has arrived you no longer have anything to wait for and then slowly you are getting tired of your BMW and want a new
deal to get high on.

Car is currently in again!! A warning message appeared on the screen - something like 'rear collision detection ..' It needs a new collision mitigation sensor on the rear bumper - quite a big job apparently. Dealer has it for 4 days, I've got a 318d M Sport Manual as a loan car. Nice car - terrible gearbox. Putting the car into reverse is a nightmare, pray first and then hope it is reverse and not 1st and visa versa. What a silly mechanism for reverse, come on BMW.
Is it the same on a F10 with a manual gearbox? Crazy!
