Has Anyone Gutted OEM Downpipes?

Guys,

Im planning on going catless and I was was talking to my brother and he asked me why I dont just gut my OEM downpipes? On my E60 M5 a lot of guys did that because of the amount of work it took to pull the manifolds but I dont know anyone doing it on F10's. Your thoughts are appreciated as usual.

No point in doing so for couple reasons.

1- More labor with a risk of ruining the downpipes

2- Does not make sense financially. It is against the law to sell your car without emission legal downpipes. So eventually you will need to buy a set of OE downpipes which will end up costing you more than aftermarket ones.
