some insight on the Jb4 stage 2 n63

Trying to get some technical insight on how the stage 2 works on the n63. Iam familiar with the jb4 interface from my previous 335 but would like to know more on how it works .

This is the question i tried asking terry but his replies seem a little slow when it comes to this platform and very ... vague .

"Is the stage 2 setup right out of the box to have more power then the stage 1 or would i have to adjust the target boost through the jb4 interface ?

is the stage 2 and stage 2 aggressive a predetermined map or is it simply your suggested interface settings?"

it already comes with +3psi stage 1 is 2.25 PSi stage 2 also has an option for mild and aggressive setting with in the same PSI range.

yes only for race gas it does not have safety like stage 2 does.
when both maxed out on race gas they are identical only for daily driving stage 2 is more aggressive.

+1
Stage 1 can be changed to +3 psi. The problem with doing so is that the JB4 can monitor a lot more sensors and check if everything is working smoothly when the Jb stage 1 cannot.
JB4 has a lot more control over boost because it can target boost by RPM, so you can add +3 psi in midrange and taper it down to +2.25 redline. The Jb can only add boost across the board.

So essentially the stage 1 is targeting boost from all rpms to where the stage 2 has a more linear power delivery ?

And the stage 2 simply adds knock prevention ?

Iam basically trying to max out my street performance on 93 octane without worrying about knock .

A setting of 2.5 psi would be the max ? . Thats means 12.5 lbs of boost total ? To be in the "safe zone " or should/can i go higher on 93.

Sorry for so many questions iam just trying to understand this platform as best as possible before i make a decision .

JB stage 1 adds the same amount for all RPMs.
JB4 has to add different boost amount for each 500 RPM.
If your car is stock ( no downpipes), Jb and Jb4 will be very close in performance.
In terms of what if the max safe boost, you would need to check with BMS technical support.

I dont plan to do downpipes on this car until the warranty gos out in a few years . Just m5 mufflers or a muffler delete .

So maybe the jb might be the right way to go for me ... what is the max boost achievable on the jb ?

Yes Jb will do just fine.
Technically, you can add as much as boost as you would like. That being said you ill probably damage your engine doing so.
Just use the JB with default boost for couple weeks, if you want more power email BMS technincal support.

I have the Stage 2 Beta. Couldn't be happier. Don't have any other performance mods except for the M5 Axle back, which I'm sure helps with sound only.
