Thanks. I've asked my buddy to send me better pictures. It was too late the last time I was at his place.

Wow...killer job.

So you wrapped it and then clear coated it? Is that how you got the gloss look?

It looks amazing!

Essentially. Abut 4-5 oats of resin and 4 coats of clear coat with sanding in between each coat. He's sending me now pictures tonight so I'll post tomorrow.

Well if you think about it, all CF parts are attached to some substrate to provide strength typically unless you're talking body panels. My CF hood (VIS did a deal with me) has a fiberglass substrate which the CF is laid on top of.... What I do is basically the same process except I use the stock parts to ensure proper fitment.

Beyond that I use the same processes the manufacturers use when producing their CF parts. I use real carbon fiber cloth, so the parts are basically OEM look and feel when complete because they are produced in the same manner...

All interior CF parts including the BMW factory sets are manufactured for looks.... I would agree with your first statement, but CF interior and exterior styling parts are being offered by all top-end manufacturers. I recently saw a new M3 at the dealership with CF interior and black matte vinyl wrap for the exterior on the showroom floor. Looked amazing!
