Coolant Level low

I have 23K km on my F10 528I. I needed to top up 6 times with more than 1.5L water each into the tank within the past 3 months. BMW HK did a pressure test and changed the water tank cap for my car. The problem is still not solved.

Has any one come across such probelm?

Thanks.

My Land Rover Freelander did exactly this. They had to replace the engine in the end.

Keep on at the dealers. Likely there's a leak somewhere, and if it's internal it's probably cheaper to put a new block in.

C-hri-s, thanks for your advice. I will leave my car to the BMW HK next week. Let see what they can do about it.

This isn't normal, any leak spots where you parked? Heavy white smokes coming out of the exhaust?

None of these happened. I took my car back to the dealer. They said that they would look into the matter for me. It may take 10ish days. They really don t have a clue.

Hate to think where those 9 liters of water went to .... but hey, you sure it's the engine coolant you are talking about? The nearest I have heard about that much water taken in is the tank for the wiper washer's.

Got my car back after 5days. They found a leakage in the radiator and replaced the whole thing for me. To my surprise, after 18mths of normal driving, how could this be happened? It really makes me have a second thought on the Gran Coupe.
