REMAP - Does the dealer really know?

I`ve read loads of stuff on this subject, some say yes they do and warranty is in jeopardy! Some say it total BS and they don`t?

I had an e60 with remap with no problems at all, also an e350 with no problems from the dealer. Would to liberate with a few extra horses and nm of torque!

Does anybody work at BMW and can give us a difinitive answer?

On newer BMW. dealer discovers that the car has changed euc, you lose the warranty on the motor and drive line. But Hargte provide their own warranty for 2 years. My 535d is the first BMW that has not Hartge EUC, because of the warranty arbitrary. From 2011 onwards must bmw workshops transmit data files from the engine to the importer to get warranty work approved. When detected any remap and changes in euc, you get problems with the warranty on the motor to the drive line. So it is in Norway and we have a 5 year warranty or 200000 km. My suggestion is to buy BMW with a large enough engine that meets our needs.

It depends on who provides the tuning. I think if the remap/piggyback ecu is from AC Schnitzer & work done by BMW dealer, then u're fine. If I remember correctly the UK distributor for ACS is BMWUK.
