Things you didn't know about your F10!
I thought we could compile a list as I saw something similar over in the 3-series forum.

That the storage bins on the front doors are lined with felt. Nice touch...

Here is another.....
When I reverse into my parking space at work, the rear of the car is close to the wall. In this situation I cannot use the lock button in the trunk lid to close the trunk and lock the vehicle. I have to use the trunk close button in the trunk lid to close the trunk, walk to the side of the car and lock via the handle or use my fob. I have Comfort Access. Safety feature? I doubt it... In addition, if the car is locked and the tailgate is opened, the boot will close but reopen again if the key fob is not within range. |

The key fob is always behind the car, in my pocket, while I hit the button. Maybe I am too close to the car when I take out my work bag, because I am backed up against a wall. I dunno...

speaking of the trunk, anyone one of you guys have a suggestion on how to do that leg/foot motion to get the trunk to do the hands free open? I have to do so many different motions to get it to work. Nothing special but just trying to figure out best foot move to do to make it work on the 1st try.

There is only one trick to 100% guaranteed results....the quick withdrawal. So basically, kick like you were kicking a soccer ball under the center rear, however, the pulling of your leg back out has to be fast and without hesitation. This has worked 100% of the time for me. Go give it a shot |

key fob holder between the cup holders in the front seat (auto tranny only) if you leave the fob in there and try to lock the doors by touching the door handles it wont work.
also if you have CA and powerlift trunk when the fob is in the trunk and you press the close button, the trunk wont close and it'll beep at you. also not sure about everyone else but for me when i have my iphone and the fob in the same pocket, i can't seem to lock/unlock the car via touching the door handle.

550 with M Sport 8-speed auto.....wont auto shift into 8th gear in sport, but you can manually shift it into 8th gear
Also learned on a test drive in a 535i that the auto stop/start feature doesn't work when the car is in Sport Mode..... |

On mine, even if I am so close to the wall that there isn't enough room for me to stand between the car and wall, I am able to use the close+lock button if I hold the key fob behind the car. |

You mean to tell me there is a place for your keys in the auto? I have a manual and the key fob is humongous. Too big to keep in my pocket and it doesn't fit in the single cup holder either. Always ends up in the passenger seat. Wish the manual had a place for the fob, yes even old school in the dash would be better.

For an auto, (not sure about manual) , if the car is on an incline, the hand brake engages autoamtically so when you take your foot off the brake, the car is held for a few second so you have a chance to put your foot on the gas pedal without rolling back. No need to put the hadbrake on.
As you gradually apply gas, you can hear the handbrake come off and then move forward. |

When I go through an auto car wash, the 4 tabs on the roof that cover the roof rack hooks magically open up. Anyone else's car do this? I need to get it looked at
