I pod randon

How do I activate the randon all function for the ipod? I have a 550i, built before sep 2010. The iphone is connected to the usb port using the bmw y-cable. Thank you!! Alex

Try the "option" button after you hit CD. There you can select random.

Unfortunately, that setting does not stick and needs to be selected every time that input is selected or the car is turned off. Someone suggested using one of the programmable buttons to selected it - that at least minimizes the clicking around every time.

Thanks for the answer. When i hit options i only have random for the CD, not for the external devices..

It works on my March 2011 build. Maybe there's a software update for it? It never "stuck" either on my 2009 M3, but it works perfectly in the 550 for me.
