Are drive "modes" programmable?
On my e92 M3, I was able to set the iDrive up so that it would always start up in a program of my choice.
I'm wondering if my 550 can do the same thing. I would like it to start-up in SPORT mode, not normal. I can't find this in the manual at all. Thanks,

Yup due to CAFE regulations. All Mercedes now default to Comfort mode on startup too, regardless of what mode you were in before you shut it off.

There is a DIY/hack way to do this, run a relay from your ignition (or anything else you want) to trigger the electronic pressing of the 'Sport' button..
