Dark Graphite F10??

I am on the way to a 2011 535 M Sport .... picking up in few weeks. I wanted an M and they ( dealer) had a "dark graphite" ( is that the same as sophisto??) on the way so I said "yes". It looks like it hides dirt and dust more than black ( which I love) and looks clean when slighty dirty. It also looks slightly dirty when clean. So what do we love about this color? I think it will look great in M sport. Pics please ?

I have this color and its awesome!

I like how it's dark gray during the day when under the sun and its black when under the shade and at night.

However, dirt and dust do tend to show faster when compared to silver/white exterior. I clean my car once every 2-3 weeks.

The car does not look in any way dirty when clean. When clean you can see how much color there is in the paint besides gray.

Not my car:

You'll love it. It has a very metallic luster to it under bright lighting. And yes, it's the same as sophisto gray.

You can see tons of pics of the color at the official dark graphite photos thread - http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=329658

And here's the whole list of official F10 color photos - http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366814

Enjoy your F10!

Comments comparing the Dark Graphite with Carbon Black?

I'm considering a 550i M-Sport when the lease on my M3 ends later this year. I've had six black cars, so I understand about how they show dirt, but I love the look of it when clean. My M5 was Carbon Black. My M3 is Jerez Black, which is pretty much the same thing. I love the blue/black effect...didn't realize that Dark Graphite has similar properties in gray.

So, any thoughts?

I was so awed by this color that I told myself, dirt showing or otherwise, this is my color!

It is simply stunning after a good wash although I must admit that she gets washed more often than my previous ride - an Olivin E60 530i. Water marks are definitely more prominent after a ride in the rain.

I would vote CB since it is an M Sport exclusive color. But Sophisto is beautiful as well, and sounds like you could use a change from black.

Below is a link to some shots of my Dark Graphite 550 in various lighting conditions. It definitely hides dirt better than black or Carbon Black (my previous car was a Carbon Black 2008 5550 M-Sport). I loved that color but it only looks its best when perfectly clean and shows the slightest amount of dirt or dust. The Dark Graphite hides a bit of dust and dirt pretty well.

I have a Dark Graphic 5-series (for about 3 days). I like it -- definitely no complaints! -- but sort of wish it was just a bit more in the middle between black and silver. It's very dark...almost black.

I have a graphite 550 on order. I took my wife to the dealership this weekend so she could see the color, she thought it looked almost black. It was outside in the sun at the time.
