it's only $3700 on the 550i, and that is only after you have already paid for the Executive Package at $4500. All other trim levels have the B&O as a $4500 option.

has anyone got this? call me crazy but unless you have cash growing on trees, the prof sound seems more than enough, bearing in mind in the uk this is already a £900 option (apprx 1300 Usd)

I've got it and I think it is spectacular. Certainly the best audio system I have ever had or heard.
I'm not sure I would have sprung for the option had I ordered the car, but it came with the 550 I purchased. Now that I have it, I'm very glad I do.

The Professional sound offered is enough, but I want just a little more. On my previous BMW came with the Harmon Kardon sound system which wasn't all that great. I eventually swapped the HK system out to an aftermarket setup. The only reason I'm going for the B&O option is so that I wouldn't have to rip the car apart to run new wires, speakers, amps, etc.. Although it would be cheaper to go aftermarket compared to the B&O offered I'll have more peace of mind with everything coming from factory untouched. |
