So why not just turn off the screen?

One thing I don't like about my car is the standard halogen lights. The lights is really bad. In town driving you don’t really notice with all the street lights. But open road driving you notice how bad the lights are. Especially when it rains. They should make xenon’s standard on the 5 series. Or they must give us a aftermarket upgrade option

There is something about the e39 that separated it from so many others! It's like any song from the Carpenters.
Sing! Sing a song! Okay, that was corny and well deserving of your barf smileys. Nevertheless, it's true. The e39 is timeless. Quote:

Th F10 is my first BMW and the only 'gripe' I had with mine is that for some reason the zoom in/out direction of the Nav felt counterintuitive initially. I'm used to it now though... Everything else, though new to me, felt completely intuitive.
I agree that it would be nice to be able to set some things by default to on/off - e.g. seat heating, steering wheel in the winter, rain sensor - but that's really a nice to have. |

My wife's car is opposite, but I drive it pretty often, especially if we go away for the weekend. When that happens, I finally get it in my head and then get back in my car on Monday and then I've got it backwards. |

RFT tires/no spare; Navigator; visibility out; high cowl; forced low seating position to see the instrument panel; limited interior space given the outside dimensions of the car - especially rear leg room; limited interior storage; it burns oil.
I don't "hate" any of these listed above with the exception of the RFTs situation with no spare and the fact that BMW forced me to accept these in order to buy the car. Overall I like the car but I'm not enamored. |
