F10 550i Drivetrain Malfunction

F10 550i w/BMS stage 1 (3psi). What Ive noticed is that with 93 octane whenever Im part throttle accelerating or full throttle accelerating the "drivetrain malfunction" message pops up but there is no reduction in power nor a check engine light nor any codes, car runs normal and makes power. I always hit "ok" on the Idrive and it clears it off the screen. BUT whenever Im running a NOS octane booster or 93/e85 (30%) mix, the "drivetrain malfunction" does NOT pop up under the same conditions.

I wonder if the default stage 1 +3psi tune is too strong for the octane and TX heat with 93 only🤔🤔🤔

What are yalls thoughts? Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Try a different code reader. Most probably experiencing mild detonation (unforeseen reasons, bad quality 93 octane, maybe!) ECU recognizes safe hence no misfire codes.

TORCO is the answer.....Due Diligence, may even squeeze 4PSI.

Could be that your car is sensing knock on 93 and is over retarding timing to compensate. Which is why it doesn't happen with higher octane.
