Gas guzzler
Anyone else’s 550i n63 a gas guzzler? I find myself putting at least $20 in gas most days and only drive about 50~ miles a day
I do have a valve seal issue, but I don’t think that’ll really affect gas Is there anything I can do to save more gas? |

I drive in manual mode and shift at lowest possible RPM most of the time. I get about 27mpg at 70mph on the interstate. Average about 19-20 city/highway combined.
Sitting in traffic more like 12. In F1 they save fuel by letting off the gas earlier before corners. Use that philosophy myself. |

I would be disappointed below 30 mpg. My 535d is reading 36.5 mpg and over 500 miles on each tank. Torque makes it feel like a V8. Would probably enjoy a manual version of the V8 for muscle car effect.

$20/ day worth of fuel for 50 miles? So that's about right. I get probably in the 8s for mpg and it's a trade off with power....that's why I bought this engine. If u wanted a fuel sipper 5... 528. If u wanted somewhere in between...535. I'll trade you my old E60 525i... that thing will yield 30mpg all day long with 180k on the clock but can't get out of its own way!
