Yes, I would qualify for dutch living in Holland and all... Looks like the roof line of a 7 series to me, a great looking grill by the way! I'll do some translations later tonight

EDIT:

Four cilinders: The engines to chose from will be dominated by nice performing six cilinder engines, with added twin-turbos. And, don't be scared off, there is a rumour that four cilinder engines are also beeing fitted to the new 5er, this due the downsizing steps announced by BMW. There is also mentioned that these four cilinder engines would be powerfull enough to push 5-series worthy numbers. That there will be a new M5 was allready stated!

So bland, boring, conservative. BMW is moving towards "same sausage, different length" with their 7er and 5er now. I hope I'm wrong.

Family resemblance is a good thing. Making cars that are instantly recognizable as BMW, Mercedes or Audi has been a longtime tradition for German luxury carmakers. Those cars have always been about combining traditional and somewhat conservative styling with cutting edge technology and performance. The only time BMW deviated from this philopsophy was during the Bangle era and I'm glad to see them moving back.

Anyway, the car looks great.

The sleekness removes power.

Overall this car looks like a less powerful 7 series.

Besides its obvious larger size, this car looks proportionally identical to the E90. The basic shape matches the e90 especially when looking at photo # 3 (the side profile). I guess BMW figures the shape of the e90 is has a universal appeal that is classic otherwise they wouldn't model the new 5 series after it

Proportionally identical? No way, I completely disagree. The rear roofline is far more rakish, unlike the E90 which went against the modern trend and kept a rather conservative rear slope. This also looks like it will have more of a tapered rear end a la the new Merc E-Class. The hood looks much more prominent, and the upright nose is a farcry from the rounded E90.

This looks proportionally similar to an F01 mixed with an A6.

I see a lot of e46 influence as well. That's great, since I love both of my e46 cars. Those designs still look contemporary and fresh even after bring out since 1999.
Can't wait to see the F10 uncovered!

BMW designs are better looking under Van Hooydonk's leadership. Look at the new Z4, the new 7er, the e92 coupe, the e90 LCI etc. I like the new stuff better...sort of taking BMW back to the days when they made an impact on the roads...not just status symbols (with terrible designs) like they had now become.

Too bad BMW fels the need to chase Lexus down the road of weird-shaped exhaust tips. Everything but round is a cheap fashion ploy.

Lights look too small for the grill,

Front end is out of proportion. Back end looks 100x better though

I swear i saw a couple of these driving around town together last week. Dealer plates, same exhaust and everything.

Maybe its just wishful thinking

+1 on the exhaust tips...

Other than that I think the F10 is sleek and classy. I like the E60, but this is much more sleek. Yes it looks like a BMW, but that's a good thing. Can't wait until all the camo comes off.
