Halogen to xenon conversion
Please please please can someone point me in the right direction if they know of anyone that does a kit to upgrade these crap angel eyes on my halogen setup to the bright brilliant White angel eyes that the xenons have.
Nobody told me Shen I was buying this car that the eyes would be less bright on halogen setup. Personally, I am still not bothered about xenon driving lights, I just want the 4 rings brighter. |

someone must do it....i've seen lots of 1-2 yr old E60's and E92's driving round with very similar white angel eyes....now they might have had Xenons but I also had Xenon on my last 3 BMW's and the F11 is the first where they've been the white colour so that means the older car's i've been seeing must have also been modded somehow.
slightly off topic.....i know you say your not bothered about xenon driving lights, i felt same way before i spec'd them on my first E60, but once you move to them there's no going back as the visibility difference is on another level i find.....sad thing is BMW know this, they know they've got you "hooked" like some kind of junkie so there is zero motivation for them to ever include them as standard fit across a range....why bother when they can just charge 1200GBP for the visibility pack and they know only too well saps like me will fork out for it every time....damn you bmw....damn you |

I've been looking into this since I got my F10 in August 2010. To this date, I havn'tt found anybody or any company that makes anything to make the Angel eye rings brighter on F10's with halogen headlights.
I was planning on having someone push a couple more volts into the rings to make them brighter but haven't gotten around to do it yet. My 2 cents. |

Do you mean the rings get brighter on normal setting or when daytime running lights option is enabled (not sure if you have that option standard)? My xenon rings get brighter with the daytime running option enabled. If you have that option on halogen, you may not be able to make them whiter but maybe brighter...

Question - have the Halogen bulbs been changed since when the F10 was first released? My 2-week old car has very white and fairly bright Angel Eyes yet my colleagues with cars released at the beginning of the year look noticably yellower.
Looking on powerbulbs I can see 4000k and 6000k bulbs which would fit if you want brighter and bluer.

There has to be a way to get sexy white angel eyes. I was reading a post about coding your lights, going to try it soon. FYI the kit from xenon planet don't work.....

Halogen to Xenon Conversion
Finally it happen! i got my car convert from halogen headlight assembly to xenon headlight. (No Conversion kit), i have a 2008 BMW 528i (E60) came with halogen headlight, went on ebay both 2 xenon headlight assembly, switch my headlight but did not work 100%, i search on the internet i found my man in Long Beach CA, please go to his website http://www.***************.com, is name his Jay, he prepared 2 adapted (See Picture) to connect to my headlight plus very important, you have to do coding, so once he prepare adapter ship to you and then will do coding on your bimmer via remotely on your laptop. No BS Jay did it for me, now i have real xenon headlight (No conversion kit) real xenon and no errors showing on screen. Thanks Jay

I believe the answer lies beyond the little oval cover shown here at the bottom of the headlight unit. If anyone's brave enough to pull their headlight out I reckon they may find the lamps for the angel eyes are there.
On Xenon models the ballast is in here, but on halogens it's not clear. It's the only place where the lamps can be hiding. |

Well, good on you for having a peek. Did you remove the light assembly from the car? If the LED's are not at the bottom, then it must be above?

I removed the wheel and wheel arch plastic inner cover. With that removed the light is completely accessible. I wanted to remove the light but could not get it out. Looks like you have to remove the bumper first.
