WTB: F10 535i or 550i in the DMV area

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
I'm a life-long BMW fan and the owner of an E46 that has turned 20 years old this year. Time to upgrade! I'm actively looking for a F10 -- either a 535i or a 550i. Here's my wish list:

535i: 2012-2016; M-Sport; RWD or xDrive; less than 100,000 miles; no salvage title or body damage; ideally Alpine White or Carbon Black; black interior; not heavily tuned or tracked.

550i: 2014-2016; M-Sport; RWD or xDrive; less than 80,000 miles; no salvage title or body damage; ideally Alpine White or Carbon Black; black interior; not heavily tuned or tracked.

Again, this is simply my "wish list." If you have a F10 that's a little different, feel free to hit me up. The only items I'm pretty committed to are the M-Sport package and avoiding any 550i earlier than the 2014 model year (even if it's undergone the work from the customer care package).

Thanks for reading this! I'm hoping to have my F10 soon so I can start contributing to the forums!

Hey I've for a 2013 535xi m-sport with all the options for that year (~65k miles), also comes with a transferable warranty on the mechanical ($50) through 2022. Carbon black with black interior, CA owned all its life but I am moving to NYC and the car is going to be shipped to CT. Never modded but a well kept car by a fellow enthusiast. LMK if you are interested and I can send over whatever other details you are interested in including clean CarFax.

Not sure what your plans are for the car when you get it, but if you're planning on upgrading the stock suspension or anything of the like (unless EDC - stock suspension is awful), you might want to reconsider the xDrive. It limits your options of upgrades...by a lot (e.g. Bilstein doesn't even make any shocks for the F10 xDrive). I'm in the DMV and seeing how we haven't gotten any real snow over the past 5 years, I wish I can go back in time and get a RWD instead.

Thanks for the tip! I hadn't considered the suspension issue. At most I would consider a slight drop (with an emphasis on slight). As for the elements, last year I headed out to Snowshoe, Luray, and the Poconos, and while I wasn't on extreme terrain I wouldn't have minded xDrive on some of those hilly roads with loose gravel heading up to the cabins. (If I had regular plans to do anything more intense, I'd spare my BMW and look to add an older Lexus GX to my garage). Also to your point, I was happy to read through the forum and see that RWD owners who added a quality winter wheel and tire setup felt pretty good about capabilities compared to xDrive owners, should we actually get snow (Farmer's Almanac says we will this winter!). Still, while there are a lot of used 535i/550i's out there, there aren't a lot of great ones, so I want to stay open minded!

2012 F10 550i xDrive M-Sport 73K miles - 18K

I have probably one of the cleanest F10 550i msports you can find. Sophisto gray 2 and black interior, with minor mods:

- Paint matched spoiler
- Deleted front reflectors
- Black grill
- Black 550i badge
- Apple Carplay and Android auto installed

Stock options:
- Black window trim and exhaust
- HUD
- Ventilated seats
- lane departure warning
- Blind spot detection
- 360 cameras

I bought it with 28K miles. It ran into similar issues as most F10's and instead of the CCP, I was given an engine replacement by BMW with a remanufactured and warrantied engine shipped from Germany at 58K. Catalytic converters replaced under warrant due to engine problems. New Brakes, high and low pressure fuel pumps, starter at 68K, all fluids replaced with engine replacement. Oil changes every 5-6K miles. Continental Pure sports with 50-60% tread remaining. Rims are immaculate. Well maintained, always running with injector cleaner to keep injectors clean.

I know it's a pre-2013 but it's a great vehicle

All replacement and repair has been done by the dealer. In the Minneapolis area, willing to deliver.

I looked at about 20 F10s and most of them were beat to death. My car was the only car I looked at with working AC/ Blower motor.
