Bumper height question

Slightly unusual question...

I'm taking delivery of a new 520d M Sport on Saturday. Just recently moved house and the previous owners put a driveway in at the front of the house in but didn't bother to get the kerb dropped. (or curb, depending on where you live )

I reverse on to the drive at the moment no problem with my e90 320d, but I'm just wondering if the front bumper is going to scrape the floor when driving on / off.

The kerb is just under 4 inches.

Any M Sport owners have any experience of driving up/down a perpendicular kerb?

The clearance under the front bumper is about 6 1/2 inches, so if you take it slow hopefully you'll be ok (depending on the angle of your driveway slope.

What wheels/tyres do you have on it, very low profile tyres don't like going up and down kerbs regularly... I'd apply for a dropped kerb, or if there's any guys doing road works near your house see if they will do it at a reduced rate if you know what I mean 😜

This guy I used to live near had the same problem. He ended up just leaving a 2x4 against the curb. Looked odd but it worked!

Yeah seen people doing that... however I'm not sure I'd want a piece of timber permanently outside of my house

Two neighbours in my neighbourhood have added their own 'driveway slope' by using bags of asphalt patch tamped into place.
I agree with Beast that low profile tires or any run-flat may do the job but may suffer integrity failure over time as the sidewalls are compressed more than normal.

Get some camo paint and nobody will know it's there

or hire a contractor to do a permanent fix.
