Thoughts on M5 front end?

I have an OEM M5 diffuser and a M5 competition exhaust on my DEBADGED 550i and I get a lot of people that tell me nice "M car" or get waves from M drivers who can't tell the difference by brakes, front end, fenders, etc.

I personally have been thinking about getting an M5 front end conversion because I like how wide and aggressive it is, however I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to pose. Coming from an E60 M5, I understand the "M" Club and people who drive actual ///M cars hate seeing it lol.

I take pride in my 550i just as if I was driving a 528i and I'm quick to correct people when they compliment. I just like the look of the M5 but didn't see the need to pay an extra 30k for an M5 for speed I would never NEED or use on a daily basis.

Thoughts?

I picked up the whole m5 non OEM body kit from Umnitza . Com . Best decision I've made. Fitment is on point and looks like a totally different car compared to the non m sport bumpers I had.

There's quite a few m sport 535s in my area and the m5 bumper not only looks better but also sets my car apart from theirs.

I say go for it , as long as you don't have the m5 badge then no one should think you're a poser. And even if they do , who gives a sh!t as long as you know you're not.

Here's some pics of mine

I agree, in the end, it is your car, do what makes you happy. No need to care about other people's judgement, they aren't paying for your mods. I would second, don't put an M5 badge on your car, but the kit? Why not, it looks great!

i know the fenders are wider on a M5 so i'm assuming the M5 conversion front bumper for a regular 5 series is smaller correct? unless you actually go M5 OEM front bumper/fenders the fenders are than wider...ismet has done this conversion. i'll find pictures. but to the OP it's your car do whatever you want regardless of what people think. i like it! but with the M5 conversion you'll still continue to have people telling you the same thing now. the other issue is if you're planning on putting a lip some people have had issues finding a lip that will work with a non M5 front aftermarket bumper? damn! after looking at this picture for a few minutes it got me thinking maybe i should do this? damnit! lol!

I most likely will be doing this conversion in January if money allows.
I'll be using Vaero Kit with fenders as well, thats if I cant find an OEM at a decent price.

It's your car. Do what you want. I'm going to be installing the m5 style fenders soon to complete off the kit. You will not see 1 m5 badge in my car. Up until recently I used to be one that attempted to ask the forum's opinion before I modded.. however everyone has a different opinion including you!

99.5% of the people here can't tell the difference anyways. For example: I got asked the other day if my car was the Dinan edition BMW. No lie. To which I responed to mess with his head: no, it's a BMS BMW...

I am also in the process of doing the M5 Rep front conversion along with side skirts. I am not trying to be that guy posing as a fake M5 so I am leaving my standard OEM rear bumper along with my 535I Badge and M performance exhaust. Cosmetically, it looks great from the pictures I seen.

My bumper is at the shop as we speak being prepped and painted. so excited!

I don't keep fog lights on when driving .. Just turned them on made sure they worked when I got the bumper installed.

Already beat you to it my friend. Picked up a set of wheels other day.

Those Forgestars are gonna look sweet especially since the front wheels are concaved and the gloss finish will pop!

Those wheels are sick man. I am in the market for a set of wheels. Was thinking of getting a set of forgestars off of another member but they were kind of beat up and I wanted to get them in a satin black finish.

I'm debating between a set of forgestars of the avant garde m359... I will definitely keep my m5 reps though!

the Advant Garde M359's are nice but i think the Forgestars look sweeter so as long as you go with the same offsets like ZeroCool did to get that concave look in the front! unless you're looking for a mesh look than yeah, go with the M359's.

I've always had a soft spot for the csl/competition wheel look. I originally wanted vmr VB3 in 20" but they discontinued it. The M359 are my next bet. I can swap out my wheels every 6 months to keep things fresh!

Thanks man.. Ya avante grades are nice but they seem too common on bmws these days.

I got my forgestars for just under 2k , Super deep concave all around, in piano black.

If you're not comfortable running sdc all around , then the set would be less expensive, I think my buddy got a set for like $1700. But to me, the concavity up front was worth the extra bucks.

Don't plan on dropping the car so I hope the concavity all around will take eyes off the wheel gap.

Yep, super deep concave all around. Offsets are +11 front , +31 rear. Forgestar doesn't suggest sdc all around but there was a couple members on here that ran it with no issues, even when lowered.

Here's combatbmw with the sdc forgestars in matte black. They look sick but the piano black I got will definitely pop more and match my black sapph car paint.
