Cornering Lights

Anyone on here changed the cornering lights to led or something else that matches the colour of the Xenon's?

Rarely use fog lights so have not changed these but I saw a reflection of the cornering lights in a window the other day and thought that they looked out of place....

I'm kind of in the same boat, but one of mine is out and I have no idea how to access it on the light housing. I tried YouTube to see if there were any vids, but I came up empty handed. Any clues?

No haven't got that far yet! I've seen 5k bulbs advertised that seem to match the xenons better but not sure if these are straight replacements or whether I need canbus error cancelling boxes...

Surely with the amount of people upgrading fog lights someone on here must have done cornering lights too?

Found this

http://forum.bmw5.co.uk/topic/115160...g-and-testing/

I too was looking at Osram or Phillips H7 5k bulbs, this post seems to suggest that they will work without coding...

They are removed by turning anti-clockwise according to the author

Not sure this is much help because i have halogen setup, but a +1 for the phillips 5k diamond white bulbs , they arent cheap but i did my high/low beam and fogs for £75.

And 90% of people who see them think theyre xenon

I take it you didn't have to code or get any errors as essentially normal tinted bulbs? I may as well do the fogs if I'm going to the effort of doing the cornering lights. What bulb type are these, seen conflicting information? I believe your car uses the fog lights to provide the cornering light functionality.

No coding, just plug and play bit of a fiddle at times but not to bad a job. My friend with xenon setup f10 bought the fogs after he saw mine, they are not an exact match but alot nicer than the standard halogen bulbs. The bulbs you need are 100%..H11 and you just gently but with force evenly around edges pull out the lower grill around the fog light 5 or 6 clips hold it and it will come out, just need a hook style tool for the job as fingers alone wont do it.
Then its a piece of cake to fit, just access the bulbs from behind the lamp

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated

Which ones did you use as Phillips do a few different styles? I was looking at the diamond vision as these are 5k, but not sure if they are too blue...

IMO probably as close as your gonna get without going led and we all know what a ball ache those are, theyre not very blue at all i would take a pic but cannot get a true likeness, its one of those instances you need to see them in person.

Heres the ones i bought...

Osram Intense 4200K - far from xenon

They aren't.
I just replaced stock for Osram Cool Blue Intense 4200K, being afraid of using Cool Blue Hyper 5000K as "too blue". I was wrong.

When lqooking at the car from outside (at front) there is slight difference in colours between inner (H7) and outer (HID) lights. H7 is warmer but both headlight colours look not far from each other.
When driving, the difference is still significant. Cornering lights seems to be still yellow. Not as bad as factory installed but still far from Xenon.

I hope the blue colour of 5K bulb will not be visible in daylight but for night it should be the better choice.

do you guys know if both msport and non msport fog lights use the same bulbs? one of my lights went out and i think it's because of the oils on my fingers when i removed the front bumper? just like you guys i might as well upgrade to a hyper white look without errors!

Yes, and those with super peripheral vision who look at themselves in windows while turning.

Fogs are almost the same. M Sport uses H11 bulbs, non-M Sport uses H8 bulbs. Very slight differences.

Just installed Philips Diamond Vision H7 bulbs to replace the OEM halogen cornering bulbs. Simple install, took about 10 minutes. Bulbs are much closer in color to the Xenon bulbs, definitely recommend the Philips bulbs if you're looking for a color match to the main Xenon headlights.

My problem is that I can't fit my fingers in the hole provided to turn the bulb out of the headlight housing. I need to figure out if I need to turn the bulb or is there a clip that holds the bulb in. How did you guys do it?

I was able to fit my hand in the opening in the headlight housing and by turning the bulb counter-clockwise, the bulb connector popped right out. The whole job took about 10 minutes.
