520d 18" to 20" light alloy wheels

I have some questions regarding my Bmw 520d which i purchased in 2015, i want to upgrade the light alloy wheels from 18" to 20". I just to know if its possible to change it from 18" to 20", and if yes then what difficulties i might face in Indian road conditions as Indian road has lot of rough or damaged road surfaces, as well as debris, curbs and other obstacles. Can it cause serious damage to wheels, tires and suspension parts. This is more likely to occur with low-profile tires, which provide less cushioning between the wheel and the road?

Thanks

Yes, you can fit 20" on your 520d, but if the roads are really bad, it might be better to keep the 18" wheels.

Where are you in India? I just got back from visiting family and friends in Delhi. We also did a road trip to Janandhar and Chandigarh. I have to say to my surprise most of the roads were better than the UK! Been a while since I been to India and I was blown away by the investment in the road network on major routes and large cities....

My 2 cents.... If your roads are not good, 20" wheels will likely not do very well. The bigger they are, the easier they bend from what I've read and heard (disclaimer: I've never had 20s, just passing along what i've read/heard)
