Replaced Windscreen

Hi,

I just had my windscreen replaced. I have the option 0358
Climate Comfort windscreen. How do I know they replaced the old windscreen with a correct new one?

I cannot see any change of tint etc.

"Green stripe climate comfort windscreen helps keep the cabin at a comfortable temperature by reducing the effects of direct and indirect sunlight."

Curious, how affective did you find this option to be? I have never had first hand experience with this.

where the job was done? At bmw workshop or on Autoglass Center. Bmw repair shop always ordering parts for chassis number so you are always right parts. But the auto glass center can order errors. Coloured edge of the upper window has S03AP code that does not work the head up display, and climafrontrute S0358 is very bright in the glass UV glass so you can see if you have the correct glass. See if there are different on the side window and windshield.

Along the lines of bimmer man's post, for those who have HUD in their cars you need to be careful when you replace the windshield! HUD equipped cars have a special windscreen with a reflective material layer inside the glass. If the special windshield is replaced by a normal windshield the HUD will have juxtaposed reflections.

Hi again andt thanks for the replies.

The local BMW dealer do not do glass repairs, and guided me to a recommended AutoGlass store. The did the job very well, and I cannot se any refelctions from the HUD. This was not the green stripe model, but a clima comfort windscreen.

I will try to spot any difference between the side and the fromt window.

Thanks

Andy

Hi

This is not a green stripe wind screen. I live in northern norway, and has not been able to check out how it works in warm weather yet ;-)

That part is funny I've seen multiple cars leave the dealer with wrong parts installed, especially on x5 where they install the wrong stabilizer links.

Also many BMW dealerships sublet windshield jobs, whether they're allow to do it or not based on their franchise agreement I dont know but the fact is that I've seen safe lite in the parking lot pulling a windshield out of the back of their van and isntalling it on a 7 series
