EVC Meisterschaft's...do i need the rest of the exhaust?

Hey guys! so i'm in the middle of getting things ready here. i'll be ordering the Wireless EVC wiring kit from QTP here shortly. I can't believe GTHaus almost wants $100 more dollars for the kit vs getting it directly from QTP?! QTP basically said you're paying $100 for the Meisterschaft logo on the remotes lol! anyways, i was just gonna have the mufflers slapped on but started thinking if i should order the rest of the pipes that go all they way up to the DP's. car is bone stock right now and maybe down the road i'll finally get around to getting a tune, DP and CP. but that's a big "IF"? Is there really any benefits to getting the rest of the pipes or should i leave as is? really appreciate all the input out there from you guys...Bmw doubles, Stuck, ect...

I'd say if you can; go all out.

Also what is the Wireless EVC wiring kit for exactly?

What is the diameter of the piping on the full Meisterschaft system? Our stock piping is 2.25", so if the full system is 2.5" or larger, it will play a small difference in outflow on the exhaust. Since you're not pushing any additional boost (read: not tuned) then I wouldn't worry as much. IMO, pay an exhaust shop to go 2.5" all the way back, tune it, and reap the gainz and sound.

it allows you to open and close the valves on the exhaust itself. with the wireless kit i don't have to run a wire to the front and drill a hole somewhere for the switch. instead, the wireless remotes will open/close the valves at any time. the wire only needs to be hooked from the acuator to the battery which happens to be in the trunk
here's the actuator that opens and closes the flap:

valve closed:

here it is installed on one side of the exhaust which will open/close that side:

2.5 for our 535's but the piping diameter on the Meisterschaft's is 2.75 since it came off a 550i. i'll need to have the muffler shop use a transducer for the connection. it's been done 1kx so no problem there. i'll look into the shop and see what they'll charge to go 2.5" all they way back cause i know the crush bends kill any performance

The stock tubing is plenty up to the task of handling extraction for the amount of power we're making. Just do the axle backs as you have planned.

That is mandrel bent stainless steel, artfully TIG welded to perfection and priced accordingly.

Most muffler shops use crush bent aluminized steel and hopefully have someone reasonably proficient with a MIG.

The two are worlds apart.

Yup! They are bada$$ looking! Wondering if its worth it as far as gains are concerned? I emailed GTHAUS so hopefully I'll find out how much?

I can't imagine there being any performance gains over factory exhaust unless you're already maxed out and full bolt on with an upgrade turbo.

Your car is essentially stock no?

Eventually I'll get some kind of tune...JB4, Race Chip, Dinan? And than probably DP, CP and so on.

Your stock engine or with all the mods you can throw at it won't need the pipes, and no matter how good they look nobody will ever see them except the grease monkey doing your oil change

Ya and then there is that!!!^^^^^^^^^^^^

You can get polished stainless steel exhaust pipe and have a exhaust shop/fab shop make that section for way less money, but why? Unless you're planning on 400+ horsepower its not necessary. It just doesn't seem worth it for something no one is going to see. It may have a better sound, but I would install the axle back as is and hear how it sounds first then decide if its needs more work, money and aggervation of tracking down the right guy for the job.

that's pretty much what i'm going to do. i figured i'd inquire just to see how much those pipes were gonna be but no way i'll spend that much for pipes when the gains are minimal and that i'm really not going all out or tracking/racing the car anyways. money can be used else where
